The MODG website updated and now the 2GRD fiction booklists are public like the rest.  So no more having to email me for anything except the Liturgical year planner.  YAY!

So how do you handle this with many children? Do you have multiple read alouds going all the time? I’ll have an 8th, 6th, 4th, 2nd and pre-K this fall… until now I’ve just read aloud during lunch, whatever book I happen to pick. This will be our first year of everyone following the MODG syllabi. Your site is incredibly helpful!

For fiction reading, that will still work. The current grade stratification is a recent development and creates an artificial structure that didn’t exist 15 years ago. Parents asked for it. As long as there’s a good mix or good books, you’re good. Laura’s family split bigs and littles for evening reading. Dad took the littles while she read to the bigs, but that was because the littles couldn’t sit through Narnia.

FANTASTIC! That’s one of the reasons I wanted to post it public. A good reading list is a good reading list, right?

We don’t use MODG, (we are a bit eclectic), but I am trying to plan out a reading list for our second grader next year. This is perfect! Thank you so much!
